Why are we so afraid of change? A question, I believe, would make anyone rich if they could correctly figure out why and then fix our fear of change. Some people say change is good, that it is inevitable. Most are just flat out scared by the prospect of a singular aspect of our life shifting, changing the course our life is headed down into something entirely different and most importantly, UNKNOWN.
I believe that for some, myself included, change is feared because of the great unknown. Even if we are not entirely happy with how our life is, we are comfortable with the internal suffering we are in fact dealing with. The pain is a known quantity. When something changes, we are thrust into an unknown and the pain or suffering caused by that could be much worse than what we have now.
Like the cliche says, change is a guarantee in life. One of the few guarantees in life that we will expect and face. I cannot give advice on how to handle whatever may happen to you. People handle changes in their own way, whether through prayer, religion, talking, etc. I won't tell you to embrace the changes that will happen or are happening to you, but I do know that no matter how scary the unknown can be, sometimes the decided outcome will define the person you will be. Plans are in store for every one of us. We just have to trust the one who set up the paths our life will take and the course changes that have been installed in those paths. After all, change is inevitable.
